Crooked bellybutton piercing?

Question

I got my belly button pierced at 6:00 PM today, it is currently 9:30 PM, and it looks crooked. I am a perfectionist and it's bugging me. I have read mixed opinions online, but you guys always give great advice. I heard it's just swelling, or since it's fresh to 'tape it straight'. You guys don't think it's migrating already, do you? I hope not DX I love it, but it's bugging me.

She drew it on, it was fine. It looked straight. She pierced it. I thought it was straight. BUT i was also a ball of nerves, my mom was passed out, and then I was super excited. So maybe it was pierced crooked.

For the love of God, please don't listen to the person who said "take it out now", that is the worst advice ever and would cause way more problems than just a crooked piercing (infection, scarring, a plethora of other crap).



To be honest it does look a little crooked however you've only had it three and a half hours and so swelling would still be occurring. If once the swelling goes down it's still crooked, you have to decide a course of action.



The best idea would be to keep it in until it's entirely healed (generally 6 months) and see if it straightens up on it's own. If it hasn't, you could take it out and wait for it to heal up and then get it re-done (if you're that desperate). However - apart from it being a little crooked it looks like a clean and generally well done piercing and if you can deal with it being slightly crooked you could have a good piercing anyway.

It might only be crooked do to the swelling. This can make any piercing appear crooked.

I say give it about a week and see how it looks then.

If it is still crooked go back to the piercer and let them know you are not happy.

Some will guarantee there work and will re-pierce it for free if you are unhappy with it.

I though mine was crooked too when I got it donw, but after a while it started to look normal. I was just paranoid about something going wrong with it. Piercer's usually know what they are doing so I wouldn't worry about it. If it continues to look crooked, go back and ask them if it is or not. (:

Totally crooked, sorry babe. I would suggest finding that easy going girl inside of you, and being ok with it, it's character. Or you could lose your mind, totally obsess, and try to TAPE it, which won't work. Give in to your destiny, crooked belly button ring and all.

I don't know . I just got mine done . and it looks crooked so I took It out .and now im scared it will hurt where I already got it done .

that is definitely crooked. i would recommend taking it out right now so it would close up quickly and not leave much of a scar, then get it re-pierced correctly.

If it bugs you, get it done the way you want it. I think it looks fine, but it is not perfectly 100% straight.



I would be happy the way it is. But I am rather "easygoing".

keep adjusting it, you are supposed to do that when it is newly pierced, just keep cleaning it ad adjusting it gradually.
