My 15 yr old son had suffered severe Acne for nearly 2 years . It was so bad that some mornings when he woke up his face was stuck to the pillow.(after using pro active) I would have to use a damp cloth to help him. Last year he tried pro active and his skin started to look good after a few days and they it became 10 times worse. Turns out the pro active made his skin worse. It was so hard on his skin, it burned his skin and it striped him of all his natural oils.

6 months ago we went to see a professional and he recommended my son use dermalogicia for sensitive skin. He said my sons skin was so dry that it was over producing oil to replace the oils he washed away. (he was over washing his skin, up to 4 times a day) he also recommended he take fish oil everyday, to help repair his skin and eat apples (drink apple juice) as there is something apples that seems to help.

He now has great skin he only gets the odd spot and none of the big ones that are like boils. It is a slow process and don’t expect miracles straight away.

I am so proud of my son. He is at such a sensitive age and he went out and faced the world every day with his skin in such a bad way. But he always has a smile on his face and he is so confident and such a wonderful happy kid.

Good luck to you and I hope that what ever you do it works for you.

Listen to me friend. Don\t do anything drastic. You need to be there for your children. Remember the actor that played the lead agent in Profiler? He had terrible scars and so does Edward James Olmos. People, most I hope, will ignore the scars and like/love you for yourself if you display a positive personal image. That's all I can say. I wish you well in your life! Demil

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL

1/ Never, ever touch your face.

2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.

3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal

4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.

Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.

5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.

6/ Do this for 90 days.

7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a

nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

This is the best, safe and permanent cure and it´s using low cost natural oils which are only beneficial to the skin. It has worked wonders for many. See my Best Answers(acne scars, etc.) and responses from users. Before using any commercial products you should do web searches to see if they have harmful and toxic ingredients. YOU WILL FIND MANY HAVE..And if you do web searches you will find many are scams.

Use an organic or natural oil - olive oils work really well and are particularly good for acne even if you have oily skin - and massage over and over with a quite strong, vigorous motion (that is the key to it working!) Better to use a " to and fro" action not a circular action and use finger tips or sides and front of fingers depending where on face you massage. You will find you can make it more vigorous and can massage for longer periods as you progress (build up to 30 to 40 min a session for best results). The massaging friction forces a fresh, clearer skin to emerge. Initially, the skin has to adjust and if soreness, breakouts or other reactions happen - skin might expel poisons that need to be expelled - then stop and resume when you can. You have to find the pace that works for you - it's different for every person. In about 2 - 4 days - depending on how vigorously you have been able to make the massage - you should see clearly noticeable results. Keep it up and in a week or so your skin will completely clear. It also gives skin a radiantly healthy glow. I have an ultra-sensitive skin and had countless skin problems - dry flaking skin, blackheads, pimples, pimple and other scars, even moles, discolorations, uneven and sun damaged skin - and this one treatment completely and permanently got rid of them all. You will not need to use any other treatment ever again. Also, as olive oil is a natural moisturizer you will not need to use any other. Some skin clinics may tell you to only massage gently but this treatment has only been beneficial to the many who have tried it. Try it - you will be happy that you did! It really works.

First of all, no one has flawless skin. Some people have it better than others, but thats just genes and stuff. Go to www.freewebs .com/reelbeauty11 for skin and beauty tips. I know its for young girls, but it works for anyone!

I know some people who have tried ProActive and it worked, but I also know some others who have tried it and it made it worse :( I know some who have put rubbing alchol on their skin or peroxcide to dry up the pimples. It also kills bacteria :) . Also, try going to a dermotoligist, or ask your regular doctor. Often times the regular doctor, who knows more about your med. history and whatnot can help you more than a dermatologist.

are you a vegetarian? That might have something to do with it. Its worth checking into.

Try dabbing toothpaste or honey on your zits before you go to bed - works wonders.

Overall, remember that beauty counts more on the inside than on the outside, and your true friends will love you for you, and not your skin.

Oh, and try a different kind of foundation, if you wear it. Try to use a kind with lots of water in it. It looks great and doesn't clog pores half as bad. And check your habits - do you prop your chin up a lot with your hands? That might cause the acne as well. Look for the cause, as well as the cure.

Are these actual scars, or just dark marks (hyperpigmentation)? If theyre just dark marks, just go to the derm and ask for hydroquinone (a bleaching cream). It must be at least 4%. (You should be able to get it for around $15). If these are actual scars, I dont know off the top of my head what you can do at home, but I do suggest reposting this question at a time when more ppl are awake in order to get more responses.

Good luck, really!!!

Well, i dont know about guys, but, Dont pick at your skin WHATEVER you do. Wash your skin with a severe acne wash and try proactive. I know proactive sounds stupid, but it really does work. Go to a dermatologist too. I mean if you want to.

Hope this helps! :)

It's not your acne problems that are hurting you, it's you.

Work on your self esteem and everything else will follow.

nothing will really help that much, sorry. You can try vitamin E cream but it's a slow heal. You shouldn't worry too much about your appearance if you have a good personality. Acne scars are fairly common, and any girl who is shallow enough to be put off by them isn't worth the effort.

Hey, Dude. My initial response to your question was an honest off the top of my head response...like I don't exactly know the answer here because I've never grown a beard or had laser...but I just wanted to help.

I have been thinking about the question you posted every day since first I read it. I mean really a lot. I've read the answers you've posted to other community member questions and see you are a very sensitive and intelligent guy. I've done more look up on correction of acne scars and know now my initial response was not helpful.

I've been trying and trying to think of the "Best Answer." NO! Please don't take that the wrong way. I do not mean the best answer here; I mean the best answer for you. This may sound really outrageous and crazy...I have NEVER done anything like this before! But, I keep coming back to it and you need to let me know how you feel about it.

I would like to contact the Tyra Banks or Oprah show (Tyra is probably a better bet), share your Yahoo/Q and suggest they produce a show about the life lasting social and psychological affects of scarring caused by teenage acne. Obviously, the intent is they invite you to share your story (on national TV --- ehhh) and foot the bill for the best treatment indicated for you, post-laser.

If you are amenable, I'll go for it. In fact, if you are really willing to give it a shot, extend the response time on your Q/A. I'll create a message from your question with a unique "subject line", post it here and ask Community Members to copy/paste, and flood the show with requests they sponsor "your" show. Actually, that might be kind of cool...you know, the Yahoo Q/A Community making something like that happen! Yeah, it is kind of out there...but you just never know.

I don't know what effects the laser treatment may have had and don't know if it's possible but the first thought that comes to my mind is grow a beard.

It's too bad $4K dollars didn't help you. You probably went to the wrong doctor. You will need to save another set of $4,000 dollars to get better results.

For the moment you have a kid, and you should give him your 100% priority. There is no reason for you to date. Consider not dating and start saving money for your next fixing. In the meantime you should continue doing research. Scars can not be earesed with a home treatment.

Your kid needs you, don't stay depress for another second. Don't show him that looks are more important than the quality and character of a good man.

Only thing I would have suggested were lasers but since that didn't work... But whatever you do don't use sandpaper that's NOT a good idea and will make it worse. Try using some of these other peoples ideas i just replied to tell you not to sandpaper your face off.

But he is one of the coolest guys I know and he is really successful. And like someone said earlier any woman that would like you in the dark and spurn you in the light is not worth your time.

PLEASE READ!!!! ITS WHATS INSIDE THAT MATTERS!!!! the women that walk away are doing you a favor. if all they care about is on the outside then that says it all about them. no matter how good looking a person maybe to someone in the beginning, over time those looks fade. if you dont have personality YOU HAVE NOTHING. personality and having a honest heart is what keeps people together. i would pick someone who keeps me laughing and happy over a pretty boy any day. so, if those chics havent learned that yet, thats there bad. they are fake anyway. dont you dare give up!!!
