Question:
What would you call this ear lobe piercing?

So let me try to explain this to you the best that I can. I am quite familiar with piercings, as I work in a tattoo and piercing studio. And I have tried to look this up on the internet before asking it on yahoo answers. I just don't know what a person would call this particular piercing, or if it even has a name?

Anyway. There is the standard ear lobe piercing, yes? And then as you move "up" on your ear and pierce more, those generally tend to be called your 'second' and 'third' earlobe piercings.

So my "first", 'standard' ear lobe piercing I have stretched to a 2g, and the rest of my lobe piercings are standard 18g. I recently got some new piercings and this is where it gets a little bit confusing, especially if you aren't too familiar with piercings.

Directly above what you would call my "second" and "third" holes, there are two more studs that I recently got pierced. By "directly above", I don't mean farther up on my ear where my 5th and 6th lobe piercings are, but actually right above the holes that are already there. This is similar to where an anti-tragus piercing would be on some people, but it goes through my lobe and not my anti-tragus cartilage.

Would these just be called lobe piercings, or do they have another word? A nies piercing has a special name for it even though it is just in the ear lobe, and that is kind of why I am wondering. Nobody in the shop I work at has an answer for me. (they just say it's a lobe and who the hell cares what its called)

And I am sorry for the painfully long description. I just wanted to make sure I am explaining this well enough because I do not feel like taking a picture.
So if anybody has any answers for me, that would be great. If not, I think we should make a new name for these piercings. Maybe the totem-pole? hahaha... Give me some suggestions!

I received my ears pierced at thirteen. I simply learned over 10 years later that they used an 18g. So suppose the painful method of stretching my lobes to a 2g! simply ask em for the traditional newbie's piercing measurement.

I first thought you were talking about a Nies/Slip piercing. Is the piercing on the side of your ear close to your head? Or is it on the outside of the ear on that ridge of lobe under the helix? Cause I always call that a cartilobe piercing haha

Really, the trendy names are confusing. I tend to just use the name of the body part its going through, followed by 'piercing.' There's no need for trendy names because people still need to explain to the piercer exactly where they want the piercing placed. That's my two cents!

They are just lobe piercings.

As long as it doesn't go through cartilidge or anything.

Just a different placement to the 'standard'

Someone I know got a triangle or lobe piercings (were trying for a circle, but it wouldn't fit)

I don't think it needs a name, when lobe will do quite happily.

So many stupid names around, its unlikely to catch on :)
