Scientifically-proven fact: acne problem is a result of genetic predisposition, not from eating fatty foods, such as chips, or chocolate. There is no way of knowing at what age your pimples will stop, as everybody's hormone levels fluctuates differently. Some women might not have had much pimples during teen years but after they deliver a baby, their hormones go crazy and start having bad acne problems. Stress does increase pimples in that you don't have the time/energy to maintain a rigorous facial-cleansing routine. Try these steps:
1. Wash your face 2-3 times a day. Follow up with acne treatment creams.
2. DO NOT touch your face to your hands, the telephone receiver, desk/table, dirty blankets and pillow cases. This spreads the oil and causes even more pimples.
3. Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%, 5%, or 10%) is the most effective antibacterial acne-treatment cream available without a prescription, because it is capable of penetrating the hair follicles in your pores to reach the bacterias that are causing the problem. Walmart even has generic brands for $3 or less. If 10% strength burns your skin, making it peel and flake, either apply only once a day or go down to a lower %.
4. Salicylic Acid is a Beta-Hydroxy (BHA) exfolliant that effectively fights blackheads. But if you're sensitive to that, too, use gentle cleansers and save the acne treatment for after washing your face.
5. At least once a week, steam your face under a towel with a large bowl of hot water. This helps open up all of your pores. Then use clay mask to "squeeze" out any remaining blackheads/whiteheads. After rinse-off, put on Biore Strips to pull everything out.
Loma Lux Acne Pill ($20-$22 per bottle of 100 tablets) clears pimples in as little as 48 hours, depending how bad your pimples are. Follow the bottle's directions per your weight. It is available at your local pharmacy, either behind the counter, or you can ask them to order it for you.
If that still doesn't work for you, then go see a doctor for prescriptions. If you do use prescription retinoids, such as Retin-A, Renova, Tazorac, Avita, Differin, or generic tretinoin, DO NOT combine with Benzoyl Peroxide, because the Benzoyl Peroxide will inactivate (or "cancel out") the retinoids.
Good luck.
