Okay so I would say about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks ago I got and industrial piercing. It got infected, but now I would say that it's healing. The green gunk is gone, it's not as swollen or red, it can rotate pretty easy now, and its not hurting (as much)... But now the skin is peeling around the piercing. So I'm wondering if its part of the healing process or if its something to be worried about. Also there's a bump, not exactly where the piercing is, but close, you know that little fold of the ear... But it doesnt seem too worrrysome. Not sure if that's also from infection, but will it ever go away? Should I try to slice it open and see if its like a bubble of gunk? I dunno. Halp :\

Peeling skin is a result of overcleaning or not cleaning properly and is not a normal part of the healing process. You should be doing sea salt soaks twice a day for 5-10 minutes each soak with 1/4th of a teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt to 8oz of hot water. If you're doing that then decrease the sea salt to 1/8th of a teaspoon.

Stop rotating it, that drags in crust and bacteria and tears up the inside of the piercing. If you piercer told you to do that then you should not return to that person. Have a better piercer check out the bump and treat it as they advise. Don't try to pop it or slice it open.

Peeling is part of the normal healing process.

Don't try to move the piercing around, this delays healing and increases the risk of reinfection.

Leave the little bump alone, you don't want to do anything that might lead to re-infection.

Don't panic. Just keep up with cleaning it with a weak saline solution.

MOISTURIZE MOISTURIZE MOISTURIZE. with the aid of fact the floor is continuously open that's susceptible to drying out. clean it with alcohol continuously and then placed extremely of lotion without fragrance. that should heel the flaky epidermis. now and lower back dry flaky epidermis can decrease fairly and it will bleed. attempt that & i'm hoping each and every thing works out :D
