I am 14. I am extremely smart like I got voted "most likely to succeed" in eighth grade. I already got my cartilage pierced and i took care of it. It never even got infected or anything. BOTH of my female cousins got theirs done. They are both less than a year older than me and one even got it done at the age of 12! But my parents won't let me get it done even though I have shown I am responsible and mature!!! And I even agreed to pay for it!Any other ideas?

The only thing you really could do is prove to them that you know pretty much everything about belly piercing, like the risks and how to really take care of it well. It's a bigger deal than a cartilage piercing.

And I guess you could ask them to explain to you exactly why they disagree with the belly and were fine with the cartilage because it's probably just because they think of a tramp when they picture one. And if that's why, then it's not really a reason! It's a double standard =)

If that doesn't work try to see if they'll agree to let you get it done for your 15th or 16th birthday. It'll seem far enough off that they might say yes haha

I think it's silly that so many people associate belly piercings with negative things. A piece of jewelry doesn't make the person, it's just jewelry. Sorry your parents aren't all that open minded! I got mine done at 14 too, and years later I don't regret it, I'm not a skank, and I'm in college lol. Good luck! <3

You could read this too if you want. It's about proper care and risks:

OH and you could also tell them that if they end up not liking it, then you can take it out after it heals and it only leaves a tiny little hole, not a scar like that other kid said.

you could no longer; in the event that they have suggested no, you're able to comprehend their determination. they have your protection in strategies. do you comprehend the adverse aspects? i'm uncertain you do. For a initiate, yu have countless grow3ing to do yet,and this piercing is alreasythe toughest one to heal, as hence of it being able that's rather much continuously moving. upload to that the actuality that, as you advance, the piercing is in all danger to circulate, you have an extremely extreme danger of rejection or migration wioth this piercing. Couple this with the potential of 6-3 hundred and sixty 5 days of no longer with the flexibility to swim in sea or pool water, much less workout, solely hipster trousers....... this may well be a piercing that reuires countless aftercare. Sorry, yet i'm which contain your mum in this one; a piercing this extreme relatively should not be performed on a 13 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous. word, everybody arranged to piercer you without consent below the age of sixteen-18 is an immoral dirtbag. regulations are there on your wellbeing and protection.

Give her the puppy dog face?

Drug her?

What do you want us to say, for someone who's "extremely smart" they should know that we can't recommend a magical remedy that will get your parents to say yes. It really has sounded like you've tried all you can.

dont man. i wanted mine done when i was 14 (im 15 now) my mom wouldnt let me and now i am greatful. ALOT of guys think it looks tacky and slutty. i find now that it looks more classy without it. but if you really want it just wait till youre 16 then just get it done yourself cause i dont think you need parents to sign for it then? i know you dont wanna wait till youre 16 but you might change your mind like i did then if you ever wanna take it out it will probably scar then youll be pissed. trust me i changed my mind. just wait a while
