Question:
Should I shave my arms?
2007-12-31 20:26:17 UTC
I am 11 years old. My mom let me shave a years ago. Don't ask me questions like "Why are you shaving?" If you really want to know, just ask my mom. She knows. It was just that one time, we were at target and she was like, sorry but you really need to shave. wowo. So, back to the question, is it right if you shave your arms? I means, my mom is 29 and her arms do not have a single hair on it. She keeps on telling me to not shave my arms. Should I shave it or not?

No, do not shave your arms. Even though you didn't say if you have normal-haired arms or big time hairy-arms ...your 11...and no ones gonna care about that. i'm +5 ur age, and i just started doing that...turns out...my arms get hairier when the hair grows back. also, the skin begins to look less 'fresh' and glowy. if anything, wait a few years...than wax...sure its time taking but you get long lasting results. oh, and i didn't start shaving my LEGS until i was 12, so ur good. no need to worry, leave those arms alone..hehe:-)

no, because you will really have to keep up on it. it will come in darker and will look very manly.

do not shave your arms. It will be such a pain when you get older because then you'll have to shave your legs, knees, underarms, bikini, pluck your eyebrows......come on do you really wanna add more things to that list? Just like leg hair it will grow back thicker and darker, and alot of people will notice and wonder why your arms are so smooth. Its natural to have arm hair and its not considered gross.....everything else on my list of shaving is considered kinda gross if you dont maintain it.

It's your decision, but my opinion is no.

You should probably not shave your arms. If you do, the hair will grow back very dark and thick. My friend shaves her arms and she has to shave them every two days to keep from having hair on her arms that looks like hair on a very hairy man's arm. If you do decide to shave your arms, be prepared to shave them a lot, because they will look much worse if you shave them.

Don't shave your arms, when you shave your arms they will just grow back darker and you will be stuck with stubbly arm hairs which is gross.

It's fine to shave your armpits to help control body odour and to be clean. However, I think it's pointless to shave the hair on your arms. I don't know a single person who shaves the hair on their arms, and I'm one of those people who don't It's your choice though, because it's your body. Maybe wait a few years until you're 14/15 and see what you think then.

Many people shave or wax their arms. Just keep in mind that if you get tired of shaving and decide to stop, your arms might not look as good as they did before. Its kind of like shaving your legs, you need to do it the rest of your life.

alrighty. just about every single answer i read said that u shouldnt shave ur arms bcuz it makes them bushy/hairier/whatever! but i shave my arms and thats not the case for me. it all depends on the person. if anything, mine only comes back darker. but not thicker. but if ur gonna shave ur arms or wax them or whatever u choose, u have to make sure u keep up with it. its not just a once-in-a-while kind of thing. im not saying im recommending it. just stating facts. i only started shaving mine bcuz i HATE body hair. its completely up to u, tho. it depends on what ur preferences are.

No you shouldnt shave your arms. One of my best friend did and at 1 point in time they told her that she had man arms. They made fun of her for days. So I wouldn't recomend it.

DONT SHAVE THEM!!!!!

if you do it will grow back like the hair on your legs!

its worse to have prickly black hairs than soft less noticeable hairs.

I have hairy arms and it may be embarrassing sometimes but I promise its better than what it would be if you shaved!

I can understand if you're wearing tights and your hair sticks through your tights, you might want to shave, but I don't see how that could ever happen with wearing a shirt and having your arm hair stick through.

Maybe you have a hormonal problem if you have that much hair on your legs so young, and your mother should take you to a doctor instead of giving you a razor & telling you need to shave.

Well if your mom doesn't want you shaving your arms then you probably shouldn't go against her wishes. However. if you do shave your arms it gets kind of addiciting. They feel really nice smooth but 11 is really young to start shaving your arms becuase once you start, it's hard to stop becuase arm hair takes a couple of weeks to grow back completley and sometimes doesn't grow back the right direction and can get thicker(so they say)

It depends on your preference.

Shaving can be a hassle. It's true what they say- When you shave, you're just cutting off the visible top part which makes it grow back faster, thicker, and of course darker. It also gives you those 'holes'. Be careful from shaving! You can get hurt. Soak in a tub for ten minutes to soften skin and then start shaving. Be gentle. Also, get out before twenty minutes before you get ashy!

Don't shave your arms if you can help it. The hair just grows back quicker and thicker. Leave your arms alone....I have hair-covered arms and after many comments throughout the years, most focusing on me shaving my arms, I finally just got used to my arms being "hairy". Shave your legs not your arms.

don't shave your arms, it's much more a hassle than shaving your legs..i mean you don't want your arms feeling rough when you're next to someone..
2007-12-31 20:29:48 UTC
do u wna be a hairy grl if yes than go shave urself.
2007-12-31 20:29:45 UTC

I would recommend not shaving or waxing your arms. It's a personal choice but arms are meant to be a little fuzzy.

I don't like shaving. I'm 12 and I have small hairs occasionally and pluck 'em out. It doesn't hurt. Shaving is annoying and doesn't do the job!

DONT SHAVE!!! the hair on your arms will grow back thicker. Waxing is the best way to get rid of unwanted hair as it takes a while to grow back and its more effective.

don't shave your arms. the hairs ment to be there for a reason. it protects the pores, which in the long run keeps out germs.

If your mom doesn't have any hair on her arms, well thats great for her, but you are your own person. Once you start shaving your arms its a neverending cycle, and there is nothing more nasty then arm stubble. If your arm hair is really dark or somrthing, bleach it. Just do not get rid of it. You'll regret it.

NO, the hair will grow back black and it will be all gross and stubly. DO NOT DO IT. you will seriously regret it and by that time its too late. my mom lost all her arm hair when she had me and my sis, so thats prob why ur mom doesnt. arm hair is normal, ur ONLY 11! do not do it!

I shave my underarms and my legs but that's it. It sounds like to much work to do more than that. But, the hair on my arms is not thick or dark either. I guess its a personal decision then depending on what the deal is. I would think you would have to shave a lot to keep the hair from coming in and looking stubbly, etc. Waxing might be better...if it were me though...I wouldn't do it.
2007-12-31 20:30:39 UTC
if u shave ur arms the hair will keep growing back THICK and u'll have really really bushy arms.... it happend to my friend...bad

DO NOT shave your arms..!!! If you do it will come back in thicker then ever and you will have to continue shaving forever! If you have severely hairy arms, seek help at a beauty salon and have them wax them, get profesional advice!

I don't know how to tell you this, but your mom has issues and they go far beyond having an 11 year old at 29, she is telling you to shave...

Sorry kid, just remember that when you grow up, you are who you are, not who your mom wants you to be.
