Do spa facials really work? Are they worth it?

I'm big on skincare. I have combination/oily skin and use Clinique products (cleanser, toner, mask, moisturizer, etc). I've never had a professional facial done and I was wondering if they are really worth it since they're not that cheap. What kind do you get?

Here are two postings posted on naturallycurly.com re: spa facials.

"Facials feel good while they're happening. I've never had one that I thought did any good. Some have irritated my skin. When I was younger I bought a series of treatments that was supposed to clear my skin -- ha! My skin looked worse when we were done than before. Now I know why."

"Not to me. Most of the "spa" products that professional facialists use are skin-barrier-damaging, and I just don't want that stuff on my face".

So it clearly says they are a risk and are a waste of money.

P.S. Some of those Clinique products you use have been found to seriously harm skin and possibly health. Go to this site Skin Deep Database and enter in the search box Clinique*(the asterisk is important) and you will learn how potentially skin sickening they are.

Because you are involved with your skincare, I think you should stick to your routine. I don't think a facial would do any harm but I don't think it would be a transformation for you in anyway. But then again, if you get one your curiosity would be settled and you could decide for yourself. Also, getting a facial is a great time to ask them any question you may have about how to care for your skin (its more individualized than any site you could read). I hope I have helped! =]

I personally get a facial every month. It depends what kind you are getting. If it's your first time, try a basic facial which should cost anywhere from 40-50$. Facialists know what their doing..give it a try. Also if you have big pores they can zap them to make them smaller. Hope this helped :)

it is not plenty with regards to the scientific care itself, yet extra getting pampered... I say it truly is well worth it, yet save around a sprint... some places are truly high priced! My pal has a save that does the diamond dermabrasion which eliminates all impurities interior the exterior. i've got self belief like I unquestionably have a sparkling face while she gets finished. it is astonishing!

yes, depending on the products they use, and you can pick from various types of facials, and before the facial they usually ask what your concerns are and focus on that, and some places are well priced for facials.
